Microsoft Office 2013 (formerly Office 15[3]) is the upcoming version of the Microsoft Office productivity suite for Microsoft Windows, and the successor to Microsoft Office 2010.[4] Office 2013 includes extended file format support, user interface updates, and support for touch.[5] Office 2013 is suitable for IA-32 and x64 systems and requires Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 or later. It cannot be installed on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 or other earlier versions of the operating system.[6] However, a Windows RT version of Office 2013 is available as well.[7]
On July 16, 2012, the Consumer Preview of Office 2013 was released to the general public. The RTM version of Office 2013 was released on October 11[1] and became available to TechNet and MSDN subscribers on October 24.[8] On November 15, 2012, the trial version of the retail Office 2013 Professional Plus, Project Professional 2013 and Visio Professional 2013 were made available to the public at TechNet and MSDN.[9][10]
